Greatwoods Temple Gardens is a private 28 Ac. Japanese Stroll Garden and Permaculture forest located in E. Mecklenburg Co. GreatWoods adjoins a 400 Ac. golf course and a 200 Ac. Wildlife Preserve. There are trails, bridges, a lake, and beautiful streams. With abundant wildlife amid tall hardwood forestland it is a beautiful and restful place to breathe the wonderful natural aromas and beneficial microbes to stimulate the senses and immune system. Greatwoods Temple Gardens adjoins the Greatwoods Zen center and garden.
Anyone dedicated to peace, tolerance, respect for all beings is welcome. Hikers, Meditators, yogis, Forest Bathers, All are welcome. Walk our forest trails, work in the woods, help in the vegetable garden for the benefit of yourself and the Garden, or just come and Be.
Greatwoods is available for learning Permaculture techniques, Walking, and walking meditation. The Five Hearts Labyrinth will be constructed in the next few months. Our grass trail provides a majestic and wonderful experience in Grounding (walking barefoot in the Garden on lush grass). Sit and listen to the rushing waters or idle by the lake. Experience the Kokodera Moss Garden under cultivation. Have a private woodland to stage a lovely outdoor wedding! Join our foraging outings to find edibles growing wild! Just come and relax and unwind. Experience the Enso Terrace on the Hill Top and experience the peace of meditation in a lovely outdoor retreat.
